As part of the Digital Communications and Customer Engagement (DCCE) module, I conducted an SEO audit of my personal Wix website to better understand how optimised it was for visibility, performance, and user experience. This blog outlines my three-stage SEO journey from initial findings to implemented changes and final improvements, offering insight into how even small adjustments can have a big impact.
Initial SEO Audit Findings
The initial SEO audit for my website sineadfahey.com revealed a performance grade of a C - with 18 actionable recommendations. Below is a breakdown of performance by category.

Performance (A+) - The website loads quickly and has strong backend performance.

Links (F) - No effective link-building strategies in place, poor internal and external linking.
On-Page SEO (D+) - Lacks keyword optimisation, header tag usage, and metadata.
Usability (B) - Mobile optimisation needs improvement, and minor accessibility issues were flagged.
Implemented Recommendations
Following the audit, some key recommendations were implemented to improve the site’s SEO:
Added social links
Ensure that on-site pages are linked to each other
Added meta description tag to pages
Enabled page indexing for all pages
Increased text content
Added more images and videos
No sitemap or page indexing
