Optimising My LinkedIn Profile for HR Consultancy

As part of the Digital Communications and Customer Engagement module, I took the time to optimise my LinkedIn profile to better reflect my personal brand and professional goals in Human Resources. My goal was to reach All-Star status, the highest level of profile strength by fully completing and enhancing every section.

Steps Taken to Achieve All-Star Status:

  • Added a professional profile photo and banner image reflecting my interest in HR and business.

  • Created a strong headline: “Aspiring HR Consultant | Business & HR Student at Griffith College Dublin”.

  • Wrote a detailed About section highlighting my background, HR goals, and key soft skills.

  • Updated my education with relevant course info, including the DCCE module. 

  • Listed work experience and described transferable skills.

  • Joined LinkedIn groups and requested recommendations from peers or colleagues.

My Social Selling Index (SSI) Score:

To measure how well I’m building a professional presence, I used LinkedIn’s Social Selling Index (SSI) tool.

  • It scores four key areas:

  • Establishing a professional brand

  • Finding the right people

  • Engaging with insights
